MM in Choral Conducting

Simpson College and CORO are excited to offer a new Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting. Achieved over three consecutive summer terms, this NASM-accredited program allows choral educators an opportunity to complete the Masters degree while continuing to teach during the school year.*

Courses include a three-summer Choral Literature sequence. Each term focuses on specific genres, allowing students to study all time periods in each summer session. Repertoire studied in this course is the focus for the Seminar in Choral Conducting and is performed by the Institute Choir. Students also receive Individual Conducting Lessons from the resident conducting faculty and guest conductors each term. Vocal Pedagogy, Choral Diction, Music Theory, Music History, and Advanced Musicianship courses complete the requirements for the degree. All courses take place on the historic and picturesque Simpson College campus during the summer.
