Each year, CORO invites 12 emerging vocal artists to spend their summer at Simpson College immersing themselves in choral music. The Young Artists live on the picturesque Simpson College campus while working with the CORO Artistic Staff and Simpson College faculty each day. The artists receive individual vocal training from renowned vocal coaches and rehearse daily as a small ensemble to prepare choral repertoire for concert performances.
Submission Materials Guidelines:
CV should include education and any professional and collegiate vocal engagements.
Recordings should be of two contrasting styles and time periods. At least one selection must be in a foreign language.
CORO Young Artists reside on the Simpson Campus for the duration of the season. They participate in rehearsals and performances during the duration of their residency. Artists receive weekly coachings on solo repertoire and work daily on choral repertoire with the full CORO Young Artists. During the Summer Choral Festival, the Young Artists join the Vocal Artists to present multiple concerts during the two-week festival. Young Artists also act as covers for the masterwork soloists and provide the core for the Institute Choir.
