I hope you will join us for this incredible season of choral music. I like to create engaging concerts that allow you to experience repertoire in a variety of ways. We will explore the classic text “When David Heard” newly set by composer Eric Whitacre, Jonathan Quick brings us a new unexpected setting of the old familiar tune “Loch Lommond,” and the newly composed setting of “Alleluia” by Jake Runestad is both energetic and reflective.
Each concert includes secular and sacred repertoire from days gone by and some that are “hot off the press” allowing you, the listener, to explore the text and music in your own way. I’m also extremely excited about our Young Composer’s Concert in May when our Associate Director, Matt Oltman, will join the CORO Vocal Artists to work closely with talented young composers. Matt and I will engage the composers in fine-tuning their choral composition and offer discussions related to the field of composition. Finally, they will experience the rehearsal process first hand with their very own piece before we present it to you on May 2.
It’s a great time to experience a concert. I encourage you to reserve your premium seats for the entire season early! A tax-deductible donation of $25.00 to CORO will allow you reserved premium seating for an individual concert and a tax-deductible donation of $50.00 will hold your reserved premium seating for all three concerts of the season. CORO’s first commercial album is here!
Artistic Director, Philip Moody, and Associate Director, Matt Oltman, have worked diligently to bring our first commercial album to light. Our past Choral Institutes have given us the wonderful music that is included on “Sweet Music Here.” It is available on CDBaby and iTunes!
You can also receive the recording by making any donation to CORO that will help fund our operating costs for the upcoming season. You can help us with a monthly donation, or a one-time donation. (Click the donate button to the left).
